Welcome.
This is what can happen when you retire - if you're either very lucky or getting close to insanity.
Have a look at what we're doing and get in touch if you think you can help!!
It may be that you'll put your retirement on hold, or you can be like us and just dive in!!
Enjoy.....
Retirement's pretty good really, once everyone else gets used to the idea that you haven't got 24 hours a day to spend servicing them. When that happens (wish) you may (and only may!!) have the time to enjoy what you retired for.
Photography has come out on top of Steve's hobbies - the music comes and goes but it's usually just for a bit of chilling' in the lounge, rather than making CD's. He still makes the odd soundtrack for the AV presentations. It's all a matter of how to use the time - don't dismiss anyone that tells you there aren't enough hours in the day. It's a fact of life. There are a few images in Steve's Gallery if you're up for it and some music to dull the senses while you browse.Viv's involved in web based groups with her textile activities (getting to be more mixed media lately), as well as producing rompers and sailor suits. What a lass!! There are some examples in Viv's Gallery for you to see.
We're involved with internet based groups, because we've struggled to find a group of like minded people in the area, who want to be more creative with photography / textiles / art / craft activities; who want to try something new and learn from each other. We've tried to start a group, but couldn't find anyone who was interested to play just for the fun of it. It seems that people are only interested if there's money to be made, or if there's something to be gained (learning, venue or equipment) for free. Guess we must live in Yorkshire!! So now we've decided to just go it on our own - watch this space.
The garden's now waking up after all the snow and ice - we've had more than our fill of the cold and the white garden looking just like everyone else's, so it's good to see all the new shoots coming. We'll have to think about getting the mower serviced fairly soon.
At
least the snow has melted enough to expose the neighbourhood cats'
toilet facilities - they seem to prefer a well raked flower bed or the
middle of a reasonably kept lawn!! Aren't they little darlings???
Have a look in the galleries. There are a few new images and samples of Viv's creations which you may find interesting
Things are really very good and getting better (and we've found some more very interesting wines). So whatever you do......
Keep smiling
Viv and Steve
